According to the Duluth Police Department, officers responded to the 5200 block of Colorado Street at 9:57 p.m. on a report of a female yelling for help.

When officers arrived, they determined that a male had entered the woman's house without permission and allegedly demanded money and drugs. Police say the suspect took a small amount of cash, prescription medications, and the keys to the woman's vehicle and left. The vehicle was later located on the 3800 block of Gladstone Street, after it had crashed into a tree.

The homeowner was not injured and the investigation is still active and ongoing. Authorities do not believe this was a random incident.

Formal charges are pending.
