One arrested after shots fired call in Virginia

Virginia police had a busy morning responding to a shots fired call on North side. The department said in a press release that officers responded to 801 12th Street North, where they found bullet holes in the back door.

A man at the house reported that a man wearing a mask fired a handgun at the back door. The man at the house reportedly returned fire. He has been placed under arrest. Police said the 32-year-old is a convicted felon who cannot possess a firearm.

Police executed a search warrant at the house and found a handgun and 13 pounds of marijuana.

The suspect vehicle was found at the Walmart in Mt. Iron. Law enforcement searched the store, but did not find the suspects. 

According to police, all parties are known to each other, and no one was injured.

Eveleth, Hibbing, and St. Louis County assisted in the case. It remains under investigation.
