The summit was started by DECA students at the school after noticing the level of disrespect within their hallways, classrooms and our overall society.

The students then reached out to Dr. Mike Thomson who believes that developing more respect begins with reaching out to younger generations.

"We need to start with young people and set the base and teach them, but most importantly model for the, what is respect?" says Thomson. "What is integrity, what is trust worthiness, what's really customer service in action? Those are the key points."

16 schools along with 34 business made it out to the summit while Sen. Amy Klobuchar made a video appearance to show her support and give thanks to all of the students who worked so hard on the event.
