Officials say rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the water, regardless of their swimming experience. Therefore, they ask that the public stay out of the water.

Officials also note that there are currently no lifeguards on Park Point.

Red flags are flying along the beach to indicate the dangerous swimming condition. Flag locations are: 12th St beach, Lafayette Square, and Park Point beach.

More information on swimming conditions and rip currents can be found here.
