Everyone had a chance to vote for their pick of a wide-ranging litter of puppies at Fitger’s annual “Cutest Puppy Contest” Saturday.

The contest included a total of 38 puppies of all different sizes and breeds. Spectators had a chance to cast one vote for their favorite.

As folks made their way through Fitger's winding halls, some said it was difficult to make a decision. Factors like appearance, personality and name all contributed to the mix.

“Everybody loves puppies and I mean this event has been going on for so long that it has actually kind of become part of the community which is really cool. There’s a lot of people that look forward to it every year so we get people lined up out the door right away in the morning,” Kendra Briggs, Board of Directors member for Beargrease said.

In first place this year was Moose, a Great Dane.

In second was Tagalong J Klunk Peterson III "Taggy," a Golden Retriever.

And in third was Luna, a Siberien Husky.

We are told it was a close race.

The contest has been taking place since the 1980's and serves as one of many traditions celebrated in light of Beargrease Marathon.
