The community came through, and 1455 coats were up for grabs at the Coats for Kids distribution day.
This effort was started by Benna Ford 20 years ago, and has lead to more than 20,000 donated and then distributed coats.
Lake Superior Cleaners spruces up the gear first.
There were also socks and other clothing available.
Distribution continues on Friday from 10am-4pm, at the Salvation Army at 916 Hughitt Avenue.
If you miss the distribution, you can call the Superior Salvation Army and get a voucher for a coat. The ones left are sent to the thrift store in Superior.
