UPDATE: The power has been restored following an outage caused by a blown power transformer box.

The Cloquet Police Department sent out an advisory saying a power transformer was blown and caused a power outage across the city at 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

The blown power transformer box was near 45 5th street.

At the time, the police department said lines were down and to avoid the area for safety reasons.

The Cloquet Area Fire and Cloquet Police responded to the outage.

MN Power was also on scene resolving the issue. 

At the time, Cloquet police said to use extreme caution when driving due to dense fog and traffic lights not operating in the area.
