1 Person Hospitalized After Fire in Cloquet Apartment Unit

Cloquet Area Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in a single apartment unit Sunday which resulted in the hospitlaization of one person.

The fire took place at about 2:30 p.m. on the 500 block of 4th street. Everyone in the apartment building was evacuated.

Cloquet District Fire Chief Kevin Schroeder said the fire was contained to one apartment with reports of the occupant still inside.

CAFD staff entered the apartment and removed the person from the apartment. The person was transported to a local Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The fire was contained to the single apartment and after ventilating smoke from the remaining floors of the building, all occupants were allowed to return inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the CAFD Fire Investigation Team.

CAFD was assisted by the Carlton Ambulance, and Cloquet and FDL Police.
