ASHLAND - Ashland County officials advise residents and motorists near Ashland and along the shore of Lake Superior to use caution today.

Significant rainfall since Monday has put stress on local, state and county roads.  A Civil Alert has been issued by Ashland County and officials ask motorists to be aware of changing road conditions.

Do not travel through standing or moving water. Barricades will be put into place if needed. Do not go around.

Report any road damage in Ashland County to the Dispatch Center at 715-682-7023.

The National Weather Service has issued a Storm Warning for the western portion of Lake Superior until 4 PM Wednesday afternoon. Sustained winds of 30 to 40 knots and waves of 16 to 20 feet are possible.
