There were 800 submissions from 25 countries of artists who submitted scripts, TV show and podcast ideas. The festival is picking the top 100 to screen and showcase to producers at the festival.

"There's a lot of energy and talent in Minnesota that’s been here for decades professionally and I think the existing industry in major cities doesn't realize that. We are excited to expose that and put out there that this is a place to come live and work and shoot year round,” Phillip Gilpin, the Catalyst executive director, said.

A production guide is also being made for the festival. The guide will showcase local talent and businesses that can be cast as crew members, writers, or people behind the scenes to work in future productions.

The festival is expected to grow the TV and film production possibilities in the area. The event starts in October.
