Bob said he wanted to see if he could complete another marathon. He has completed 6 full marathons in the past, and 3 half marathons. He had taken a break from running in the past years because of back surgery and a knee replacement.

Bob's family could be seen at the finish line cheering him on. He received a shirt and medal for taking part in the marathon.

His family told WDIO News it has been "a long day."

The story has been corrected to reflect the hours it took Bob to complete the marathon.
