Hibbing High School was briefly locked down Wednesday morning after a student was arrested following an earlier disturbance off campus.

Hibbing Police say the disturbance in the 2600 block of 6th Avenue East was reported at about 8:54 a.m.  Officers determined that one of the people involved was a juvenile male who attends Hibbing High School.

The student was arrested at the school without incident.

Police say no weapons were recovered from the school, and the incident was not related to the school.  They say the public is not in any danger.

Hibbing High School Principal Mike Finco says buildings and classes were in lockdown for a short time for student and staff safety.
