Apartment Fire in Chisholm Displaces 16 People

An apartment in Chisholm caught fire early Friday, and now at least 16 people have been displaced.

The Northland Fire Wire says it was reported around 2:45 a.m. The structure on 126 1st Street SW was heavily involved with flames and smoke. Chief Bob Brown said that the building had eight apartments, and is considered a total loss.

Fire crews from Buhl, Chisholm, and Hibbing all responded to the scene. The Fire Wire says everyone in the building was safely evacuated.

The cause of fire is still under investigation.
