Animal Allies Humane Society is expanding opportunities for their Humane Education program with a new Outdoor Humane Education Center.

The center officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony held with the Duluth Chamber Thursday afternoon. The celebration continued with an open house reception and barbecue in the evening.

One of their art camps got to break in the new space and decorate it with their drawings. These summer camps are some of the programs that will benefit from the outdoor education center.

"This new outdoor facility is really going to allow us to maximize and expand that programming for the kids," Development officer Michelle Stenberg said. "Really what it comes down to is fostering and teaching the next generation of animal welfare champions. The ones who are going to go out there and continue this work into the future. To help the dogs and cats."
