The Duluth Angel of Hope group is inviting families to a candlelight vigil on Sunday.
"We thought this month would be the perfect time. The weather is warmer. And it's Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. We would be able to get people down there. We are finding out that some people aren't aware of the statue, and we want to get the word out," shared Deb Davis, spokeswoman for the group.
"We want people to come down and mingle with other parents and feel support. To be able to share stories and tell their stories."
Her son, Luke, died in 2009. And she wants people to know, "This brings people together. And if nothing else, it gives us a chance to share our story and talk about our child. It helps to see there is a healing process. The grief journey, you never get out of, but it changes. Someday, you can laugh again and talk about your child again without breaking down."
The vigil is Sunday at 6pm.
They'll also be selling candles made by Riverside Soy Candles, and t-shirts, to raise money for their compassion fund. That fund will help families pay for the $85 bricks, if they can't afford them.
