A 13-year-old Cloquet girl was taken to the hospital after a car v. bike accident Tuesday afternoon.

The Cloquet Police Department said the 13-year-old was riding a bike with two others northbound on Trettle Lane. Police say a driver who was heading westbound on Big Lake Road hit her in the intersection.

It happened around 1:20 p.m.

According to police, the 13-year-old was not believed to be wearing a helmet. She was treated on scene by the Cloquet Area Fire District and then taken to Essentia Health in Duluth.

Her condition is not known. The 23-year-old woman driving the car was not injured.

The Minnesota State Patrol is working on reconstructing the crash scene as part of the investigation.

The Fond du Lac Police Department and Carlton County Sheriff's Office also assisted.
