DULUTH, Minn. - The hundreds of artists have packed up their instruments, and music lovers are cutting off those shiny Homegrown Music Festival wristbands.

WDIO's Baihly Warfield and Photojournalist Ben Harper were there through it all. Here are their 10 takeaways:

  1. Homegrown is for all ages.
  2. Don't bring a purse. (Baihly's broke)
  3. Bring a snack and stay hydrated.
  4. Try something new. Go see a group you've never heard of.
  5. Put yourself out there.
  6. If you pay attention to the Homegrown Facebook page, you can even join in on each night's theme.
  7. Soup is the appropriate dinner choice before Soup Town Night.
  8. The free DTA trolley is a whole different music experience.
  9. You might not have a favorite part of Homegrown week. And that's OK.
  10. We are lucky to have such immense talent here in the Northland and an entire week devoted to appreciating it.

For one last time until next year, happy Homegrown!
