UMD's Ordean Court Remodeling Nears Completion

Created: September 06, 2019 07:11 PM

UMD is nearing the end of its Ordean Court remodeling project after construction began in May.

Part of the goal of the renovation is to limit the vehicle traffic that was common in the prior design. That traffic deteriorated the court's pavement and also made it discouraging to be used as a student gathering place.

The new design will keep the area open amongst all of its' surrounding buildings, including the Marshall Performing Arts Center, Tweeb Museum of Art, and the Sports and Health Center.

The university's overall goal is to create another option on campus for students to study and gather outdoors.

The $2 million dollar project is expected to be completed by early October.
