Friday was the first time they sat down together since the nurses authorized a strike.

In a statement, union leaders said, "Nobody wants to go on strike, but we already have a staffing crisis at St. Luke's."

The most recent statement from St. Luke's said they were ready to go back to the table to reach a fair resolution.  If they can't come an agreement, the one-day strike is scheduled for Thursday, October 3rd.
