The Ashland Fire Department says they rescued a male who was trapped on the second floor of a home that was on fire.

Ashland Fire says they were dispatched shortly after 3:30 Saturday afternoon to a home in the 1600 Block of 4th St. E where they say there was a report of a male trapped on the second floor.

Crews were able to rescue the male using a ladder, and then were able to knock down the fire using hose lines.

Ashland Fire says one person was injured in the fire, but it is unclear if the male rescued is the person who suffered the injury.

Ashland Fire says the cause of the fire is accidental.

Ashland Fire was assisted on scene by Mason and Washburn Fire Departments.
