Free!  Learn to Skate is NOT for Registered Hockey Players. You must pre-register and no walk-ins will be allowed. Register at duluthhockey.com. Participants must bring their own skates and helmet. (Do not bring full hockey equipment or sticks.)

Session 1:  For beginning skater who CANNOT skate.  For kids who have a hard time standing on the ice.
Time: 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM for all dates

Session 2: For beginning skaters that can stand, and walk and begin to glide on the ice.
Time: 12:30 PM - 1:15 PM for all dates

* It is important to register your child for the appropriate level of skating to optimize instruction.  Children may be moved to the appropriate session by instructors if he/she would benefit more from a different level.  Children are only allowed to skate during one session per night.

Dates: September 22 and 29; October 5, 13, 20 and 27; November 3 and 10.
Helmets must be worn at all times while on the ice.

  • Small, thin gloves. I would suggest the little knit gloves as these cover but do not get in the way of instruction.
  • Some type of elbow and knee guards or pads.
  • Some children opt to just wear snow pants instead of knee pads.
  • Please DO NOT have your chlid wear shorts or short sleeve shirts during the lessons.
