Glensheen staff have hidden pumpkins throughout the mansion and the estate, both for the young and young at heart to find.

They hope the hunt will bring more families to the museum by holding the family-friendly event.

"Kids are enjoying this place now, but what I think is great is that they're also learning these great pieces of history of Glensheen because they're here. They probably would have never come here without the pumpkin hunt and now because the pumpkin hunt's here, it's given them that excuse to say 'let's go,' " said Glensheen Mansion Director Daniel Hartman.

Visitors who manage to find all the pumpkins win a prize for their "pumpkin hunt mastery."

The mansion will also be open for trick-or-treating on Halloween.
