The National Park Service says 32-year-old Tu Thanh Nguyen accidentally fell while hiking and taking pictures by herself Wednesday on the North Country Trail. Kayakers who witnessed the fall got her to shore near Chapel Beach, but she didn't survive.

Pictured Rocks is a long, narrow park with 15 miles of cliffs along Lake Superior.

Nguyen was from Sunnyvale, California.
