With the Duluth public schools operating under full distance learning for all students until at least January 21, the Center for Family Wellness will be holding a free, short course available online titled “Supporting Emotional Resilience while Distance Learning.”

According to a press release, the course is geared toward caregivers of elementary school children who are managing the dual role of being a parent and their child’s hands-on teacher every day.

Register for classes on their website at Center for Family Wellness.

“We know that many caregivers are struggling to work from home while helping their children learn from home. We also know that caregivers are worried about the long-term impact that distance learning will have on their child, both academically and emotionally”, co-owner Erin Therrien, said in the release. “Our course was created to provide tools to help parents and children manage this difficult time together”

The online course will be available for free until January 21, 2021 through The Center for Family Wellness’ website at
