The Proctor-Hermantown Mirage will forever be remembered for their incredible hockey season during a pandemic. And the community will continue to honor their State-sized accomplishments with a day dedicated to the team!

Hermantown and Proctor mayors have proclaimed Thursday, April 8, 2021 as 'Proctor-Hermantown Mirage State Champions Day' in both cities.

The shared girls hockey team took home its first-ever state title on Saturday, with a double-overtime victory over Gentry Academy. The girls also went their entire season undefeated, putting their final record at 21-0.

"This team brings together two proud cities into one wonderful community," said Hermantown Mayor Wayne Boucher in a press release. "While we passionately compete against Proctor as our most-cherished rival in so many sports, it adds a bit more to this state championship that the Mirage represent both schools and both cities."

Since their inception in 1997, the Mirage have won multiple section titles, but this season was their first time playing in a state championship game.
