With all the negativity surrounding police officers in recent weeks, a group in Grand Rapids gathered to show their support, with a 'Back the Blue' rally.

"After all that's been going on, there's a lot of us that desperately need them, and back them, and pray for them, and just want to be here for them," says Ofelia Godwin, a supporter at Tuesday's rally. "We couldn't do this life without them, I don't care what anybody says. We need our police."

Godwin says she saw the rally on her Facebook feed, and jumped up to attend right away.

"They're so low, right now, in morale. We need to encourage them in every way we can," Godwin says. "Wave to them, anything! Just acknowledge their presence in a positive way!"

About 100 people came out to show their support, with flags, handmade signs, and honking horns from cars driving by. Across the street, a handful of people made a stand against their cause.
