Ely's Blueberry/Art Festival is canceled after a strong storm moved through and damaged booths and downed trees. An Ely Chamber of Commerce representative said it's "pretty devastating."

Thousands of visitors were expected to head to Ely this weekend for the 40th Blueberry/Art Festival. After being canceled due to the pandemic in 2020, this year's event had been modified with health and safety in mind.

According to the Ely Chamber of Commerce, approximately 200 arts and crafts and food vendors were scheduled to be there for the 3-day event.

They encourage people to come for the Harvest Moon Festival from Sept. 10-12 instead.
