Usually, hundreds of mining leaders fill the DECC in April for a mining conference. This year, the annual Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Minnesota Conference is going virtual in 2021.

"Our event was canceled in 2020. And we decided no matter what, we were going to move forward in 2021 with a virtual event," explained Ryan Siats, chair of the Minnesota Section of SME.

"We're going to maintain the traditional keynotes, ethics courses, technical sessions, and updates from the mining companies," Siats said.

For the all important networking time, there will be virtual coffee breaks where you can collaborate with other people.

Because it's virtual, there are some benefits, according to organizers. One, you can access the sessions afterwards for a short time. And two, there are even more people from across North America who will be speaking.

The event is April 13-15th.

Early bird registration is open now. To sign up, click below.
