At the capital, a group of supporters stood together, united in their stance about the petition.

Nancy Norr, chair of Jobs for Minnesotans, said, "We are resilient .We plan on being here to support the project through completion. Greater Minnesota is looking for economic investment, and this project has gone through 15 years of rigorous permitting."

Back in January, the Minnesota Court of Appeals sent the permit to mine and dam safety permits back to the DNR, and told the agency it must hold a contested case hearing.

AgriGrowth, American Council of Engineering Companies, Association of General Contractors, Iron Mining Association, and MiningMinnesota were all there on Tuesday. So were the Steelworkers.
