Planters ‘NUTMobile’ more than just driving experience

Learn about a job that gets you out on the road - in a giant peanut!

Three million peanuts worth in weight, the Planters NUTmobile is only in its first month of a year long journey across the United States, but there’s been no shortage of smiles, or peanuts, being shelled out.

“A lot of people are just super in awe of what we have here,” said Aria Conte, an ambassador for Planters and “Peanutter.” “I mean, it’s not every day you see a giant peanut driving down the street, so most people are in shock, most people are laughing, smiling, and it’s super fun to be able to bring that to people every day and to be able to make them smile and give them free peanuts, free stickers and just brighten up their day a little bit.”

The team of Aria, Hudson and Adleigh hit the road in early June. Four wheels, three strangers, one peanut.

“I think definitely having an outgoing personality and just being able to interact with my other two coworkers is something that is super important for the job because we are spending a year together on the road,” said Conte. “I think as long as you have a positive mindset and are excited about the job and want to make the most out of the year, then you’ll be great.”

Hitting the road isn’t the only thing these Peanutters have going on though.

“While our bosses do have some bigger events planned for us throughout the year, a lot of it is up to us and that’s part of the job that a lot of people don’t realize either. It’s not just a driving job. It is communications, it is marketing, it is PR, and it is event planning,” said Conte. “So we kind of see what we want to do and reach out to people who want to work with us and hope that they want to collaborate with us.”

The NUTmobile gets about 14 miles per a gallon. The three ambassadors did need to get certified to drive the NUTmobile .

“It’s a great once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Conte. “If you think that you’re meant for something you should not give up on what your dreams are and that you should take an opportunity that might seem crazy or nutty and put your all into it because it’s so worth it. I’m so thankful that I had this opportunity.”
