Make a model heart with the Science Siblings

Understanding how the heart works with the Science Siblings.

The Science Siblings are celebrating Heart Month with some facts and a DIY model.

“For example, the size of your heart is about the same size as your fist. And also, the average heart weighs between half of a pound to 1 pound, depending on where you’re at. And also, your heart pumps about 2,000 gallons of blood every single day,” Adam Jacobson said.

“And your heart beats 60-100 times a minute,” Paige Jacobson added. “And your heart pumps blood all throughout your body to oxygenate the cells.”

They also demonstrated how to make a model of a heart using a glass, two balloons, some rubber bands, a skewer, and straws.
