Heritage Nordic builds Lift Bridge sauna

Check out this sauna that was inspired by the Aerial Lift Bridge! It's going to be at the Duluth Home Show.

Heritage Nordic brought a showstopping sauna to the Arrowhead Home & Builders Show.

The 6-foot barrel sauna is built into a replica of Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge. Troy Persaud was inspired at a sauna event at Endion Station along the Lakewalk.

“A lot of people come down here to see the lake, mostly the bridge. It’s a huge tourist attraction,” Persaud said. “And myself, I’m a very artsy type person. So I took that and just kind of incorporated it into sauna.”

He enlisted the help of Mike Priola to build it.

“I’ve made a lot of different variations of the Lift Bridge, but nothing this big. So when Troy came to me and talked about it, I was like, that’s pretty large scale,” Priola said.

It took them about two weeks. They estimate it weighs over 2,000 pounds.

“I don’t know if this will be a piece of history or not, but it’s definitely a one of one. There isn’t another one like it,” Persaud said.

It’s for sale “if the right person wants it.”

Persaud started building custom saunas as a hobby and now turned it into his Cloquet-based business, Heritage Nordic.

The Home Show runs April 3-6.
