Downtown Duluth Days return with new vibe

Downtown Duluth Days, formerly known as Sidewalk Days, is making its return!

The event formerly known as Sidewalk Days is returning July 9-10 as Downtown Duluth Days.

It will have some of the same features, like the car show, vendors, and live music. But in 2025, it also includes a Block Party. That will be on the block between 1st and 2nd Ave. E.

“We have about 175 vendors this year. Twenty-three food trucks are confirmed in addition to the Superior Street restaurants and bars as well,” Downtown Duluth Special Events Coordinator Melissa LaTour said. “Lots of artisans, live painting, live chalk art on the street.”

The YMCA’s Sidewalk Shuffle will also happen at noon on Wednesday, July 9.

Downtown Duluth Days are happening simultaneously with the Festival of Sail in Canal Park.

“I think we would say that it just makes for our downtown and connecting to the waterfront very walkable,” Downtown Duluth President Kristi Stokes said. “Our street will be closed down. Many of the people who are visiting for tall ships will hopefully be here or just arriving. They’ll have something to do after tall ships. They’ll have something to do for a break during the day.”

They just ask people to be patient and expect extra traffic.

“This is all worth it,” Stokes said. “These are the days we just love.”
