Denfeld grad and Duluth theatre standout, Reagan Kern, recently spent 12 days in the Big Apple as part of the prestigious Jimmy Awards, a national high school musical theatre competition and intensive.

She won this all-expense-paid trip through the Spotlight Arts, where she was named Minnesota’s Best Actress this spring.

The trip to New York City also focused on education. Kern spent the week learning from industry professionals and connecting with other students from across the country.

The training culminated with a performance on Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre. A night embellished with Broadway legends like Josh Groban and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

In the fall, Kern will continue to pursue her musical theatre at Shenandoah Conservatory.
