Lakeview Behavioral Health launches new program for substance use disorders
The Duluth branch of Lakeview Behavioral Health has launched their new program designed to help people who are dealing with substance use disorders.
Patients have access to a wide variety of resources to help them in their recovery process, including one-on-one counseling, group therapy, medication-assisted treatment, and telehealth services. They recently brought on Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor Guy Hall, who emphasized the importance of his role in helping people with recovery.
“I’m just here to make it a safe place for them, to keep them feeling like they can share and be vulnerable. then it’s always an honor privilege to watch them from that they grow and change and gain their own recovery,” said Hall.
Hall has been working in the field since 1990 but was just recently brought on board by LBH. He thinks even though these programs exist already at other clinics, their office can help reduce the number of patients on waiting lists at other clinics. On top of that, he noted how the group therapy sessions can especially benefit first timers.
“For first timers coming into treatment, they find out they’re not alone. The newcomer who’s never been through treatment before, they learn that, oh, I’m not the only one that experiences this and stuff. Then for those who come back again and again, what they do is they learn that, okay, my relapse wasn’t a failure, it was just another lesson to learn. And now I can go about learning how to deal with my relapses,” said Hall.
If you or someone you know is looking for help, now is a great time to sign up with Lakeview Behavioral Health.
