In the men’s division of the 2022 running of Grandma’s Marathon, Dominic Ondoro is the champion.

The Kenya native is no stranger to the winner’s circle, having won the Marathon in 2014. Ondoro also holds the event record of 2:09:06, which he set during the 2014 race.

“It’s emotional to come back here. I like the way people cheer us and interact with us. That’s what makes me come back and run here,” stated Ondoro.

Ondoro’s unofficial finish time this year was 2:09:34.

In the women’s division, reigning champion Dakotah Lindwurm keeps her title for another year.

The Eagan, MN native finished in 2021 with a time of 2:29:04. This year’s unofficial finish time was 2:25:01, which breaks the Superior Street course record.

” I love the idea of women working together, especially American women we are just upping the game every single year. I ran with Esther for a while and every time we’d get to a bottle I’d kind of break away from her, and then she would just surge right back to me. So I kept thinking wow this might be a really good race.

My grandpa was here for the first time he’s never seen me run a race, and so to look over and immediately see him. Honestly winning was amazing but him being here to watch it that’s so much more important to me,” said Lindwurm.
