Tech Bytes: Walmart Plus launching this month

In today's tech bytes: Walmart is launching a membership service to challenge Amazon Prime. Walmart Plus will cost $98 a year or a little over $12.95/mo. That is slightly cheaper than Amazon but, unlike Amazon, free shipping is not available on every item. It starts September 15th.

Future versions of Google's and Apple's operation systems will include the company's COVID-19 notification system. Previously users were required to install an app to use the exposure notification system. It's meant to easily notify users who opt in about possible virus exposures.

Uber wants proof you're wearing a mask. If you're not and your driver reports you, the ride share company will now require a mask selfie the next time you use the app. The rule takes effect this month.
