Tech Bytes: Robots set to outnumber humans at Amazon warehouses
In today’s Tech Bytes, Amazon could soon have more robots working in its warehouses than people. The Wall Street Journal reports that the company has deployed more than one million robots so far, compared to its human workforce of approximately one and a half million.
Next, Threads users can now send direct messages. The new feature includes the basics: one-on-one chats, emoji use, and the ability to mute others. Threads is also rolling out a new tool called Highlighter, designed to emphasize interesting conversations.
Finally, after months of delays, Bloomberg reports that Apple is in talks with AI companies OpenAI and Anthropic to power Siri. Apple initially planned to use its own internally developed artificial intelligence. Tech experts are calling the change a “brain transplant.”
