In today’s Tech Bytes, Shein’s sales strategy is under the microscope. The popular Chinese fashion website is being accused of violating European Union consumer laws by using misleading product labels and fake discounts. The EU also alleges that Shein creates fake deadlines to pressure buyers. The company has one month to respond to the EU’s concerns or face fines.

Next, WhatsApp is teasing a dedicated iPad app after nearly two years of beta testing. The app is expected to allow users to access their WhatsApp conversations even when their iPhone is not connected to the internet. An official release date has not yet been announced.

Finally, SpaceX is expected to conduct its ninth Starship test flight from Texas tonight, reusing a Super Heavy rocket for the first time. The company hopes the unmanned mission will demonstrate that the rocket can fly and return safely, after its last two flights ended in explosions.
