Support PAVSA at the Bonspiel Fundraiser on Saturday

PAVSA is hosting a bonspiel fundraiser at the Duluth Curling Club this Saturday.  The proceeds benefit the organization and the important work it does.

"People of all abilities are coming and we'll have some instructors that are able to talk people through what it's like to curl and how to curl," Sara Niemi, with PAVSA, said.  "They'll play one game, we'll break for lunch, and then they'll play another game."

She said the event will be relaxed and fun for everyone.  It also, of course, supports a good cause.

"PAVSA provides free and confidential services for survivors of sexual violence and any secondary survivors, no matter how short or long ago any violence you experienced happened, we're there to provide support services, mental health services, and groups for anyone in our community," Niemi said.

The fundraisers help PAVSA provide these services free of charge.

"We have 16 teams that are going to be competing, but people are welcome to come and spectate and join us for lunch with a $20 donation," Niemi said.

If you're interested in joining, you can call the organization at 218-726-1442.  The event is on Saturday, February 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Duluth Curling Club.
