Make a lasting impact through the United Way’s Day of Caring

Today on Good Morning Northland Jaci Christianson joined Sierra Naess to talk all about the United Way's Day of Caring Event.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back this summer, we’ve got the perfect opportunity for you. Jaci Christianson, the Impact Director with the Head of the Lakes United Way, joined GMN this morning to talk all about their Day of Caring.

Christianson started off by telling us why this day is so important, “Our mission at Head of Lakes United Way is strengthening our community by connecting people and resources.”

They’re partnering with several nonprofits and have 30 projects planned for this summer, so there will be plenty of diverse opportunities to get involved. “We have some folks who will be sanding benches and picnic tables for organizations. Minnesota Power is sponsoring the event this year, and they have over 100 employees volunteering. We also have people helping assemble food kits,” Christianson said.

Even if you can’t get out to volunteer in person, there are still ways to help. “Some nonprofits may not be able to have volunteers on-site, so others are hosting donation drives and collecting supplies they need to run their services,” she explained.

There will be a service for everyone, no skills required! The Day of Caring takes place on Wednesday, June 11th.
