The idea of "home" is an important one. This past year alone has showed the necessity of having a place to go when being out in the rest of the world doesn't feel safe.

It can be hard to feel safe and supported when you don't have a home-base, so Life House in Duluth has been working for the past 30 years to ensure that all youth in the Northland have a place to stay, heal and grow.

"Just walking through our door and saying "I need some help" - that takes a lot of courage," said Life House executive director, Jordan Johnson. "When somebody does that they are immediately connected with staff who are just there to say 'welcome, come in, what can we do for you.' Those little successes make a long lasting impact."

Life House's annual "Celebration of Success" event is happening virtually today at 5:30 pm - and this year is a special one as it marks three decades of service to the area's homeless youth.

There will be musical performances, alumni speakers and updates on the organizations accomplishments throughout the years.

A link to the event can be found on their website.
