The pandemic has brought to light the crucial role of healthcare workers in the country- not just during a crisis like COVID-19 but every day.
Because of this, a representative of Lake Superior College told WDIO that this awareness has heightened interest and enrollment in healthcare degrees.
To help showcase different health related jobs, positions and what curriculums support it, LSC is hosting their annual healthcare open house this afternoon.
"We've got really great programs that we're really proud of and we know that there's this need in the community and beyond for both nurses and also a whole other lot of positions; from medical assistant to CNA," said Daniell Fanning, LSC's Vice President of External Relations. "It's a really great opportunity to get to know the program and the campus a bit better."
The open house is free, open to the public and runs from 2-6 PM on the college's main campus.
Due to safety precautions registration is required to attend the event and you have until noon today to do so.
You can visit LSC's website to sign up and learn more.
