Volunteers and contributors recognized at the Grandma’s Marathon award brunch

Long time Grandma's Marathon volunteer and board member John Hartwick earns Mac Welles award after almost 25 years working with Grandma's Marathon.

Some very important Grandma’s Marathon contributors were recognized today at the Grandma’s Marathon award brunch Friday June 20th.

That includes long time grandma’s volunteer and board member John Hartwick. He started working Grandma’s Marathon at just 15 years old selling beer tickets and worked his way up to the board of directors.

Hartwick does lots for Grandma’s Marathon like overseeing the Michelina’s All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner and Bayfront entertainment.

“I am one of many award recipients today,” said Hartwick. “All these people have given their time and effort and in some cases their financial resources to help better the organization.”

Today he was awarded the Mac Welles award of excellence. Hartwick has been working with grandma’s for almost 25 years.
