Victory II is the second ship of the summer cruise season in Duluth

The Victory II is the second cruise ship of the season arrived to Duluth, which is continuing to bring more tourists a Great Lakes experience.

On Thursday June 5th, the second cruise ship of the season arrived to Duluth. The Victory II from the Victory Cruise lines docked near the DECC. The ship is on a 15-day Great Lakes journey from Chicago to Thunder Bay. The previous stop from in Houghton, Michigan.

Passengers disembarked from the Victory II to explore Canal Park and Downtown. One couple gave the city got some good reviews. Brad and Cindy Shrum, said that it was their first time visiting Duluth and really sailing around Lake Superior.

“It’s wonderful, I’m so impressed. First time in Duluth, Minnesota, so we have enjoyed walking across the bridge and walking in the town and seeing some of the shops,” Cindy said. “We’re having a great time. A lot of food, a lot of ports. We’re having an awesome trip,” Brad said. “If you’ve ever done something like this, do it. It’s an unforgettable experience. We’ve gotten lots of tender loving care and you can do the included excursions or you can pay for upgraded excursions. All the excursions are awesome. Very few passengers. So you get to know everybody.”

Brad and Cindy said there are about 65 passengers on board. They gave rave reviews about the ship and its crew, calling the journey a trip of a lifetime.

“Most people don’t see America. Most people, they want to do a big time cruise,” Brad said. “They think about going to Europe, but there’s just so much to see in America.”
