Significant growth at True North Goodwill is leading to significant changes for the organization.

Goodwill shared an update Thursday night on the finalized project plans for their new resource and training center to be located in the Atlas Industrial Park between Morgan Park and Gary New Duluth.

The facility will serve as a community hub providing, career training & education opportunities, stabilization support services, and work readiness and exploration.

Scott Vezina is the Director of Community Engagement for True North Goodwill, he said they have outgrown their current facility on Garfield Avenue.

“What this new facility is going to allow us to do is take our service numbers from the hundreds into the thousands. We’re going to be able to offer programming we haven’t been able to offer before,” Vezina said.

Stakeholders say this project will make a generational impact in our community, providing vital resources, services, and programs to people overcoming challenges to securing and maintaining meaningful employment.

They expect to break ground this fall and be ready to open in the fall of 2026.
