Three weeks after the fires broke out, a look at the aftermath in Brimson

Update from Brimson three weeks after the fire started

An update about how people are doing in the Brimson area, three weeks after the Camp House Fire started.

It’s now been three weeks since the Camp House Fire raged through the Brimson area.

Homeowners we met off Highway 44 on Monday have made some progress at their properties.

One couple lost their boat house, and about a dozen kayaks and canoes. But they’ve already planted hundreds of trees. And they told us that mitigation efforts they took, and a metal roof, undoubtedly made a difference saving their new house.

Another homeowner took the day off of work to do some clearing of fire debris. His house was saved, but it does smell like smoke.

And another man shared how he used four sprinklers to protect his property.

At Hugo’s, it looks more like business as usual. However, they are hosting a couple of events coming up.
