On June 30th, 2025, the nurse’s current contract will expire without a new agreement being agreed upon. The contract is set to expire at 11:59 PM. With both medical providers reaching out to continue negotiations and bargain with the MNA.
When speaking with Essentia last week, the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Beth Young, had this to say about the ending of the contract. “If a contract isn’t reached before June 30th, that doesn’t necessarily mean that a strike will occur,” she said. “We can still continue bargaining in good faith even after the contract expires. I think it’s important for our patients, our community, to know that if a strike were to occur, we’ll be prepared to care for our patients in any scenario.”
The MNA’s official start date of their open-ended strike is July 8th at 7 am. WDIO is tracking this story and will update this page with ongoing developments.
