Sen. Eichorn officially charged with solicitation of a minor

Justin David Eichorn (Hennepin County Jail)
Minnesota Senator Justin Eichorn, a Republican from Grand Rapids, was formally charged with solicitation of a minor on Wednesday, March 19, after he was previously arrested. If convicted, Eichorn faces a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
According to court documents, on or about March 11 through 13, 2025, officers from the Bloomington Police Department, in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies, participated in an undercover prostitution operation targeting solicitation of minors for sexual conduct and placed ads on multiple websites offering prostitution services.
The documents further state that Eichorn started a text conversation with an officer posing as a 17-year-old girl. Eichorn repeatedly asked the undercover if they were available “tonight” and inquired about rates and located.
On March 13, he continued to ask the undercover officer if they were available and then continued to reach out on March 17 where the undercover officer’s age was discussed and she again advised him that she was 17.
“The defendant was given an address being used by law enforcement to meet [undercover officer] which was located in Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. When the defendant arrived, he was placed under arrest,” said court documents.
Both the DFL and GOP have called for Eichorn’s immediate resignation.
