Outdoor School for All funding passed during legislative session

(Wolf Ridge)
Minnesota has joined the movement to fund Outdoor School for All. This passed during the challenging legislative session.
The DNR will administer the grant funding, which totals $848,000.
Pete Smerud, Executive Director for Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, said, “The Northland really lead on this, with Senator Grant Hauschild and Representative Roger Skraba carrying the bills. And no matter what political side you were on, you put that aside for the good of kids.”
They’ll be doing outreach to see what additional schools can make the trip to Wolf Ridge and the other centers.
And they’ll be reporting back to the legislature.
Wolf Ridge has recently updated their curriculum to have a Native narrative.
Minnesota is just the fourth state in the nation, and only the third to fund and pass it.
